How to Fact-Check GTA 6 Rumors, Leaks and Fake Downloads

Check a GTA 6 rumor in five steps

1. Write down the specific claim. 'A clip shows a petrol pump' and 'refueling is mandatory throughout GTA 6' are different propositions.
2. Find the earliest identifiable source and its publication date. Keep the article URL, author and any original statement; a repost date is not the event date.
3. Look for matching evidence on Rockstar's own website or the relevant official platform listing. Match the exact feature, edition, region and date, not just the game's name.
4. Check whether several articles cite one anonymous post. Five repetitions of the same post still provide only one underlying source.
5. Assign a narrow verdict: officially stated, reported but unconfirmed, unsupported, or contradicted by a cited source. Explain what new evidence would change it.

What our evidence labels mean

• Official: the responsible publisher or platform directly states the particular fact. An official video can show a scene without proving a complete gameplay system.
• Reported: an identifiable publication says something happened. That establishes who is reporting it, not automatic confirmation of every underlying allegation.
• Unconfirmed leak or rumor: authenticity, context or final-game relevance has not been established. Keep the warning with the claim when sharing it.
• Unsupported: no checkable evidence has been supplied. Absence of proof is not proof that the opposite is true.
• Contradicted: a specific claim conflicts with identifiable evidence. State which part is contradicted instead of dismissing every related discussion.

Three common claim traps

• Gameplay footage: distinguish what is visibly shown from claims about whether the clip is genuine, current or representative of the finished game. Do not infer a universal mechanic from one scene.
• Release times: a store listing may concern one account region. It does not establish that changing a console setting will unlock a purchased game early everywhere.
• Trailers: Rockstar's site now links An Extended Look as well as Trailer 1 and Trailer 2. A repost calling a video 'Trailer 3' does not change the publisher's title or announce another premiere.

A copyable evidence note

• Claim: the exact statement, without adding assumptions.
• Source: publication or account, original URL, publication date and date checked.
• Evidence: what is directly stated or visible; identify any missing original material.
• Limit: what the evidence cannot establish, including authenticity or final-build relevance.
• Verdict: current confidence label and the primary confirmation needed to change it.
